a little note:
i have added comment moderation
because a good friend of mine just recently got an extremely disturbing comment

july happy list

a little july happy list...

- drinking white wine out on our balcony on warm evenings
- sleeping in on the weekends
- referring to bennett as my boyfriend, then remembering that he is my husband now and freaking out about it
- pinterest. i am so obsessed.
- spinach salad with strawberries, apples, feta, almonds, and white balsamic vinaigrette. YUM.
- brunch dates with my husband
- the tree of life. ohmygoodness. it is seriously a work of art.
- this picture of a certain groom waiting to see his bride for the first time...

beach vacation

today is our last day at the beach
and i am dreading going home
back to the land of responsibility
jobs
and never seeing my husband because of our conflicting schedules.

this trip has been exactly what i needed.
i feel refreshed and back on track.

here's a little list of highlights from our little vacation:

-fireworks on the beach
-grilling out
-walking on the beach with a beer in one hand and my husband's hand in the other
-soooo many freckles
-afternoon movies
(the tree of life...absolutely incredible)
-wrestling in the waves with bennett and getting mouthful after mouthful of saltwater
-getting about 5 pounds of sand in my bikini bottoms. not fun.
-the smell of sunscreen
-backyard wiffle ball games
-talking about the future and baby names and lots of other fun things married people talk about.

i love my husband, and all is good.

i'm off to the beach for a week

with bennett and my family!

we'll be spending the week at perdido key, florida
and i could not be more ready for a vacation.
i need this.
badly.

and while i'm gone i'm going to try and get better about blogging
since i have been slacking like it's my job
and i miss it.
i think it would be good for me to start back up.

so i hope everyone has a lovely 4th of july week!

home inspiration

now that we're all moved in to our new home
(the tiniest 1 bedroom apartment you ever did see)
i have been using pinterest to help inspire me
while i unpack and decorate the place.

the 3 most important things in our new place:

1. wood (especially old and rustic)


2. simplicity (especially in the bedroom. i can't handle clutter in there.)

3. a wall of frames (covered. floor to ceiling.)

things have been pretty crazy since we got back from the honeymoon
with starting new jobs,
moving and unpacking,
and getting used to everything.
i am so anxious to have our home put together
so we can relax,
have people over,
and really feel at home!
