4 years ago today 

that girl on the left and the boy on the right started dating.

this photograph is one i'll treasure forever.

we had only been dating a month or two 

and late one friday night i said i wanted to go to the beach.

so we left the party we were at

packed some bags

and drove 8 hours through the night to florida.

we spent all day saturday on the beach 

and drove back to nashville that night

so bennett could be back in time for band practice.

i can't wait to show this photo to the little girl growing in my belly

and tell her the story of our one day beach adventure

and how i hope that she will one day find a boy

who would drive her to the beach through the night 

just so she could feel some sand between her toes.

i hope she finds a love like ours.

because it's the greatest thing I've ever known.

a lovely little date night

the other night
bennett and i went on a little date to the franklin mercantile
(one of our favorite restaurants and where we had our rehearsal dinner)
and i had the most delicious dinner of my life.
seriously.
i usually don't care much about food
but this meal....
let me just tell you.

we had a bottle of my favorite white wine
and started off with bruschetta.
then i had grilled asparagus
port glazed salmon
sweet potato cakes
and for dessert, chocolate cake.

i mean, i was freaking out.
bennett couldn't even believe it...
i cleaned my plate!
that never happens.
a few bites into it,
i was already getting sad because i knew it would all be over soon.

after dinner
we stopped by the national folk festival for a bit.
benn grabbed a beer
and me, a glass of wine
and we happened to run into a couple friends and their adorable baby
which was a lovely surprise
(although it made my baby fever even worse...)

it was definitely a date night i'll always remember.
so simple and perfect.

a little date

bennett and i went out the other night

on what ended up being one of the best dates ever.

we started out at the park and the weather was perfect.

i took pictures for my photo class

and bennett read

and then we talked about our future together

and got butterflies in our stomachs.

then we went to bobby's dairy dip and had the BEST hamburgers

and fried pickles

and fries

and sodas

and dipped ice cream cones

and then we went and played putt putt golf

(bennett won. by a lot.)

and i saw a lady with a baby who was eight days old.

eight.

and i almost cried because he was so precious.

we ended the night at the holland house

with stephanie the great

and we all drank weekender punch and wanted more

(but our wallets wouldn't allow it)

whew.

it was quite a good night.

date night

bennett and i went on a date the other night

to a new pizza place

and we fell head over heels in love

they have the best pizza and enormous glasses of wine

not to mention outdoor seating under christmas lights

i took this polaroid at the end of my freshman year of college. bennett is on the left and my roommate meagan is on the right. a bunch us had gone to my house that morning to eat pancakes that my mom made and then we went to the park afterwards to hang out. i had the biggest crush on bennett at this point. the best part is that he asked me out on our first date that night. he asked me as we were walking on campus, on our way to watch star wars. i was so excited that i couldn't stop smiling the whole night. that was almost 2 years ago, and look at us now! we're getting married!

christmas date night part 2

last night

bennett took me to franklin to eat at one of my favorite restaurants

and then we drove around the little town and looked at christmas lights

it was probably one of my top 5 favorite date nights

because bennett is my favorite

and christmas is my favorite

and downtown franklin is my favorite

life is good

and my dad is taking me on a walgreens date tomorrow

to buy garland

and chocolate marshmallow santas

and candy canes

oh, how i love this time of year!

to celebrate our one year anniversary.

we have been once before just to get dessert

but now we're going to get the complete dinner experience.

afterwards i think we'll get a movie and snuggle.

we want to go to an orchard and pick apples soon

and we had so much fun

even though he wouldn't let me use bumpers

so i kept getting gutter balls

after we ate dinner

we went and saw away we go

and it was SO GOOD

seriously

i highly recommend it

i would see it again in a heartbeat

3 days till apartment!

helping bennett move into his apartment has made me SO excited about moving into mine on friday. i just finished getting all the essentials (mattress, comforter, kitchen supplies, etc.) so now all i have to do is wait. bennett and i are supposed to go to movies in the park tomorrow night for a date but the weather isn't looking so good. any ideas for a fun alternative?

i am so glad to have him back.
