a new chapter

yesterday was my first day of teacher in-service
and it went really well!
i am spending the first half of the semester in an elementary school
(actually, the elementary school i went to years and years ago!)
and then the second half of the semester will be spent student teaching in the high school i attended 4 years ago.

i am excited,
absolutely terrified,
and ready to learn from my mentor teachers
how to be an art teacher.

crazy, stupid, love

last night, i saw crazy, stupid, love with stephanie
and i was shocked at how much i loved it!
few movies can make me laugh hysterically
AND fight back tears at the same time
and this movie did just that.

seriously, you will never forgive yourself if you don't go see it.

cucumber basil mojitos

bennett has been making us the most delicious, refreshing drinks...
cucumber basil mojitos.

all you need is
3 oz of white rum
chopped cucumber and fresh basil
1 oz st. germain
5 oz tonic water
a splash of fresh lime juice
a cucumber slice for a garnish

and voila!
now all i want is to have a small get together
just so we can make mojitos for everyone
and show off our new home.

burrito night

last night bennett and i made the best dinner.
we made salmon burritos
with homemade chili sour cream,
fiesta rice,
citrus salsa,
and a mix of black beans and corn,
avocado,
sliced tomato,
and green onion.

it was amazing!

plus, we had homemade margaritas to top it off.
not too shabby, eh?

a little reminder

fresh summer salad

i don't think i have ever posted food or a recipe on here

but this summer salad is far too delicious not to share.

all you need is:
fresh baby spinach
a granny smith apple, cut into thin slices
a few strawberries, cut into small pieces
feta cheese
almonds
and marzetti white balsamic dressing

it is so easy
and so good.
