homemade pizza

the other night
bennett and i made the most delicious pizza.
we got the dough and toppings from trader joe's
and baked it on our pizza stone in our tiny oven.
it was delicious,
especially with a glass of red wine.

we are slowly starting to get the hang of this cooking thing,
and we're really starting to enjoy it.

today

we've been married a whopping 4 months today.
my oh my,
time sure does fly.

3 years...

friday marks our 3 year dating anniversary

but i feel like we've been together for 30 years.

we have gone through so much.

we have been through the best of the best
and the absolute worst.
we made it through a brain surgery
and 2 others,
a 48 hour beach adventure,
long nights spent talking instead of sleeping,
holidays apart from each other,
canoe trips,
roadtrips,
studying abroad,
a 16 month engagement,
a wedding,
probably about a billion kisses,
tears,
and i love yous.

and it has been
without a doubt
the best 3 years of my life.

i wouldn't change a thing.

i am excited

i am excited for pumpkin bread
and the smell of fallen leaves
and long walks with my husband
where we talk about what's next for us
in this little life of ours.

i am excited to wear tights and sweaters
and for the scent of mulling spices
to fill our tiny apartment
while we listen to simon & garfunkel
on the record player.

i am excited to one day
whether it is a year from now or 5 years from now
spend a rainy afternoon in bed
snuggled up next to my bennett
counting the tiny fingers
and tiny toes
of the sleeping baby in between us.

food matters

bennett and i watched this documentary last night
and we were speechless at the end.
oh. my. gosh.
goodbye sonic, taco bell, mc donalds
and pretty much everything else in our kitchen.
seriously, goodbye.

things are about to drastically change around here
as to what we are eating.

this week i took an unintentional break from the computer
but i'll be back tomorrow with my pinterest favorites.

autumn is here and everything is changing.
i am changing.
my life is changing.
and it is all changing for the better.
i love it.
bennett and i are starting to see what we really want for our life
not what we're "supposed" to want
or what the world makes us think we want.

life is too short to be lazy.
i want to live.
