bennett and i went back to honeymoon island

which is where we got engaged one year before.

we even found the bench where he proposed to me

and took some pictures...

i had such a wonderful time in tampa this weekend.

my mom came with me so she could meet the rest of bennett's family

and they had an engagement party for us

with plenty of gifts, food, and mimosas.

all of bennett's friends were there and we had a blast.

i am headed to tampa today with my mom

to see bennett for a few days

and to celebrate our engagement with a bunch of his family

and friends

and i couldn't be more excited!

a couple weeks ago, bennett and i got together with our wonderful wedding photographer austin gros and had our engagement shoot. we went to our favorite canoeing spot in kingston springs, tn, and had so much fun canoeing and taking pictures. here are some of our favorites! and be sure to check out austin's blog!

this first full week of classes has been super stressful

so i couldn't be happier that it is the weekend.

mostly because 3 of my good friends

who are also 3 of my bridesmaids : )

are throwing me and bennett an engagement party!

a huge group of our friends are going to eat with us

and then we're coming back to my place for drinks and desserts

i am so excited to dress up and spend the night

the proposal.

i am finally back in nashville

so i can tell you all about the proposal!

first of all, we have had a wedding date since november

and it has been SO hard not to tell anyone

but i had to wait until he proposed

here's how it happened:

bennett took me to a state park in dunedin, florida called honeymoon island. once we got there, we ate our packed lunches and walked around on the beach looking for seashells. it was pretty cold, so we decided to walk a nature trail to warm ourselves up. after seeing a bald eagle and five armadillos, we found a nice area to sit where there was a bench looking out to a bay. i thought to myself how perfect it would be if he proposed there, and seconds later he pulled a ring out of his pocket and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. after several kisses and many tears, I said yes.

so now, on may 21, 2011

i am going to marry the love of my life here

and be the happiest

luckiest

girl in the world
