a birthday

tomorrow is my birthday

i will be 22

and bennett is taking me on a surprise dinner

and we might even see a movie

and we're going to bake a cake.

at the moment i am sitting in my bed listening to the civil wars

and punch brothers

and midlake

and i am thinking about how in 3 and a half months

i will marry my best friend

and we will begin our lives together

as husband and wife.

i have lived 22 years as jenny humphrey

and i will live the next 22 as jenny foster

and the 22 after that

and the 22 after that...

i am the happiest i have ever been right now.

i could not be happier.

everything is quite alright.
