full term and full of germs.

today baby is full term.

today i am also sick as a dog and stuck in bed.

it's crazy to think that at any time now

there will be a tiny baby sleeping right across from me.

i'll lie in bed and listen to her breathing

and everything will be right in the world.

i just really hope she waits a bit longer

so i can beat off these germs i caught from the kiddos at school.

i mean seriously.

WHY did i have to get sick now!?

today i woke up to a storm

and a really bad case of vertigo

so i've been laying low all day.

thank you pinterest
and awful daytime television
for keeping me company.

sunday night movie in the park

by the time sunday evening rolled around

i desperately wanted to get out of the house
after being cooped up indoors all weekend thanks to a sore throat and fever.
i still wasn't feeling great
so bennett and i decided to head over to east nashville
to catch an outdoor movie.
i think it was just what the doctor ordered
because by the next day i was feeling better.


we brought a blanket
and a box of kleenex (my new best friend)
and watched the princess bride
one of bennett's all time favorite movies.
it was so relaxing and we'll definitely be going back for the next movie.

plus, they had free popcorn and popsicles
and locally brewed beer for $5.
i mean come on...
how else would you want to spend your sunday evening?

sick

i've been sick in bed all weekend
thanks to a nasty little bug, it seems.

luckily i have the best of husbands to take care of me
and bake me cookies
and rub my back at 3 in the morning
when i have to blow my nose again so i can breathe.

but on a better note i think autumn is almost here.
i can feel it.
i can smell it.
oh, how i love autumn.
it can't come soon enough.

sick boy

my bennett is sick

and pitiful

and it makes me so very sad

and somehow he's still so cute

despite a fever and bad cough...

it snowed here in nashville a couple days ago

and we're apparently supposed to have an ice storm tomorrow

so i have a feeling i will be cuddled up in bed

watching movies and trying to recover from a stomach bug

for the next few days...

which is just fine with me

a boring post

this weekend consisted of

- an upper respiratory infection

- the most snow i've seen since the 8th grade

- the first season of dexter

- so much snuggling

- penne noodles covered in butter

- lots of coughing and nose blowing

oh how i hate the cold and being sick

but oh how i love laying in bed watching dexter with my fiance

and we're off to a terrible start

it is pouring outside

i don't think i slept more than an hour last night

i feel terrible

i just want to sleep

i hope this day starts to get better...

...and i sure hope i don't have swine flu

mother's day

being sick is the worst. bennett and i laid in bed for 7 hours yesterday and tried to watch episodes of the office online despite our constant coughing and nose blowing. however, it was nice to both be sick so we could cuddle and feel miserable together. but then i wake up this morning to find out i have a sinus infection and the beginning of an ear infection. boo.

on a happier note, it's mother's day! i'm going home tonight to eat dinner with the family because i unfortunately couldn't make it to church with them this morning. i realized today that i really don't tell my mom enough how much i love her. she is incredible. she would do absolutely anything for me and my sisters. i forget sometimes how much she does for us and how blessed i am. so here's a reminder to you and to myself: make sure you take the time to tell those you love how much they mean to you. life is short.
